Why am I hitting my API limit in Salesforce?

If you exceed your number of maximum daily API calls from Salesforce, InsightSquared could become unable to update your data for a period of time.  

This most often happens because of new software that has been added to your Salesforce instance that is also using API calls.

If this happens, we will reach out to you to let you know and, in most cases, temporarily limit the frequency at which we are updating your data in order to minimize the API calls we are using. 

To determine your daily Salesforce limit and which of your applications (InsightSquared, HubSpot, Pardot, etc.) have been consuming the API calls, please take the following steps in Salesforce.com:

1. Determine your Salesforce API quota

  1. Log into Salesforce as an admin.
  2. Click Setup.
  3. Click System Overview.
  4. Look for the maximum number of calls under the usage bar in the API Usage section.

2. Find out which applications are consuming Salesforce API calls

  1. In Salesforce, click on Reports.
  2. Click on Administrative Reports.
  3. Click on API Usage Last 7 days.

There may be many rows in the API call report, but you should be able to get a sense of which applications are consuming the most. Please let us know if we can help you with your findings.
